Mountain Bike Innovation Clinic, Business Support and Networking Day. Thursday 19th March 2020 Maryculter House Hotel.
An exciting opportunity to bring together business, projects and groups with a collective interest in the MTB sector in Aberdeenshire is being organised by Developing Mountain Biking in Scotland (DMBinS) and The Mountain Bike Centre of Scotland (MTBCoS) following on from a number of successful events in 2019.
The day, aimed at engaging, supporting and inspiring local businesses will feature 2 distinct elements.
Throughout the afternoon there will be an opportunity for start-up businesses or existing companies wishing to launch a new cycling product to attend an Innovation Clinic. This is a chance to engage with industry leads from DMBinS, the Mountain Bike Centre of Scotland, Edinburgh Napier University and Aberdeenshire Council. Attendees will have the opportunity to discuss projects, innovative business ideas and product development.
In the evening there will be a networking event including updates on the DMBinS Aberdeenshire MTB project, introduction to the MTBCoS support opportunities and an inspirational talk from Ben Pinnick, Owner & Founder of Bird Bikes, who made the leap from being CEO of a software company into the MTB industry in 2012, followed by time for businesses to engage with each other.
DMBinS Aberdeenshire MTB Development Coordinator Will Clarke said: ‘These events are aimed at both exiting MTB businesses and those who wish to get into the sector whether that be retail, tourism, product development, media or any other aspect. It’s a fantastically positive time for mountain biking in Scotland and we hope that as many businesses as possible will take up this opportunity.’
The event is funded by DMBinS through the Leader 2012-2020 Programme, Scottish Enterprise and Aberdeenshire Council.
