Forestry Commission Scotland (FCS) is currently regenerating 15ha of vacant and derelict land to urban community woodland. The site is adjacent to the Commonwealth Games athlete’s village in the East End of Glasgow. The site will be developed in a way which protects its unique characteristics whilst providing local residents and visiting public alike with an opportunity to get active, get involved and be inspired by the opportunities available within an urban woodland. Through their main contractors, Robertson Construction, FCS are inviting tenders for the design and build of bike pump track and skills area at their new site, Cuningar Loop.
FCS are looking for the design and build of a bike pump track. The shape of the site will allow for 2 types of track, accommodating entry level cyclists and skilled users segregated by a meeting point. A shelter will be required which is to be included in the design and should have an element of seating but not fully enclosed.
Site visits will be held on 17 July 2014. As the site is under construction full PPE will be required on the visit, steel toe capped boots, gloves, hard hat and hi viz. Please contact Alex Paris to arrange a suitable time.
The estimated total value of the contract is £121,000.
Contract Start/End Dates
The anticipated contract start date will be the 1st October 2014 and will be completed by 6th March 2015. This project is part of a funding package and therefore must be completed and invoiced by March 2015.
