Please see our quick guide to trail centres across Scotland and their current status (2nd July 2020)
We will be updating this regularly to keep all riders up to date with the latest news on what trails are open and opening.
Toilets: remember toilets may be closed at trailheads - plan your toilet stops at LockdownLoos.com
Overnight Stays: if you are planning overnight stays then from 3rd July to 15th July it is only 'Self Contained' accommodation available in Scotland - visit the destination links below to find appropriate accommodation.
Be prepared: Ensure you have enough equipment for your ride including extra clothing, food and water in case of emergencies and a delayed rescue.
Return to trail riding: Trail skills may be a little rusty, allow yourself time to get them back. With a long period off the trails, don’t be surprised if the flow doesn’t instantly return. Think ‘slow is smooth, smooth is fast’ and we’ll all be nailing those loved sections again before long.
Riding unauthorised constructed tracks, paths and tracks: We (mountain bikers) ride unauthorised constructed trails, and other paths and tracks, under the rights of responsible access that the Scottish Outdoor Access Code (SOAC) affords us. With good planning, considerate parking and respect the needs of other users and land owners you may access these trails, paths and tracks across Scotland.
Be nice: Staff are returning to new and challenging work programmes, people are still concerned with the spread of the virus and it is just nice to be nice. Saying hello, giving way, smiling and a friendly wave – can brighten up everyone’s day. Do the Ride Thing and follow the Scottish Outdoor Access Code at all times.
