As part of the Scottish Mountain Bike Conference – Innovation Edition, held in November in Aviemore, we invited members of the cycling and mountain biking media, both from the UK and international, to have a week of activity crammed with great stories.

The week saw journalists, from all over the world, have:

  • the opportunity to test the freshest innovations from Scottish companies,
  • an amazing mountain bike adventure in the Cairngorms,
  • opportunities to meet the tourism industry and contribute to the sport’s development at the Scottish Mountain Bike Conference 2016 – Innovation Edition and, completing a great week
  • the opportunity to cover the UK’s only EWS qualifier at Kinlochleven hosted by No Fuss Events

We promised a great week and it was delivered.

The stories and accompanying photography coming from the media trip were fantastic.

Coming over from the USA we were delighted that Greg Heil from singletracks website joined us. He was impressed by our approach in Scotland – he even titled his article – ‘6 reasons why Scotland may be the most progressive mountain destination in the world’. Excellent!

We were thankful to receive support from VisitBritain to support us to bring German journalists from and World of MTB.

Norman from World of MTB is a great advocate of the approach taken by Scottish mountain biking and developed three articles on his time in Scotland – enjoy!

BikeBiz, the UK’s premiere source of information for the cycle trade, created several online articles around the conference and we were delighted that their main article appeared on the front cover of their January issue.

Wideopen Magazine opened with ‘Not your usual conference. The bi-annual Developing Mountain Biking in Scotland conference is an opportunity to showcase to the World what Scotland does well and how they go about tackling the important issues. It is also a unique forum to discuss with the key players in the Scottish scene and beyond how best to keep the ball rolling and making Scotland an even better place to ride a mountain bike.’

We would like to thank everyone who helped make the media trip a success, in particular, H&I Adventures, Mountain Bike Centre of Scotland (MTBCoS), all the Scottish companies, Ross Bell photography and all the partners of the conference.
