Mountain Biking in the Curriculum

Mountain Biking in the Curriculum

Mountain biking can be delivered directly as part of cross curricular development or directly as an SQA in Mountain Biking.

As an activity that inspires young people and is perceived as 'cool'. It can be utilised to involve children and young people in exploring and appreciating their environment both close to where they live and the wider countryside.

Cycling Scotland have produced lessons plans to help link cycling activities to the Curriculum for Excellence. Although this is not mountain biking specific information many of the principles can be applied to mountain biking.

If you have been using mountain biking as part of the curriculum we would love to hear from you – and, possibly, feature your school as a case study and an example of good practice! - please get in touch via email.
