Scottish Cycling is looking to appoint a Highland Mountain Bike Development Co-ordinator to deliver a partnership project to develop mountain biking as a sport and industry in key destinations across the Highlands.
Scottish Cycling is the internationally recognised governing body for cycle sport in Scotland. It is an integral part of British Cycling. Together the organisations cover all six cycling disciplines including BMX, cycle speedway, cyclo-cross, mountain biking, road and track.
DMBinS is a partnership initiative, part of Scottish Cycling, which is responsible for overseeing the world’s first national strategic framework for mountain biking.
This exciting new co-ordinator role is to lead, facilitate and manage the delivery of the Highland Mountain Biking Development Plan 2019 – 2023 which was developed in partnership with the DMBinS Highland Mountain Bike Cluster. The action plan has 5 interlinked workstreams which will help realise infrastructure development projects, help ensure the mountain bike community is more integrated into the care and development of a sustainable trail network, help support businesses to innovate and develop new products, support the growth potential of mountain bike tourism in the area and enhance the competitiveness of tourism businesses generally.
At present the development plan and role are being funded through Highlands and Islands Enterprise , Cairngorms National Park Authority, and further funding is expected from Fort William & Lochaber, Sutherland, Torridon and Skye.
The role will be based in the Highland Council area and will have access to hot desks in all the main destinations – Fort William, Aviemore and Sutherland.
Working both independently and as part of our dynamic team, your experience, qualifications and knowledge across a range of areas will contribute to driving forward DMBinS and Scottish Cycling’s aim to excel in service delivery.

The post is for a fixed term 3-year contract.
The annual salary will be £26,000-£32,000 dependent on experience.
