After several months of restricted mountain biking, its great to be able to get out riding again and share some good news on a new development. Glenlivet trails, near Tomintoul on the edge of the Cairngorms National Park, have a new operator.
The Edmondson’s (family of World Cup downhiller, Jamie) took over the lease to run the entire bike business at Glenlivet, including the café, trails and woodlands.
Over the winter they have been busy working with Paul Masson of Cycletherapy (the man behind Laggan trails, and many others) and Chris Rogerson Contracting - CRC (professional mountain bike trail builders) to build a new Orange freeride line.
It appears that the combination of an enthusiastic backer, elite mountain biker, experienced trail designer and skilled builders create great trails and have a really good time doing so. Everyone involved is excited and quite rightly proud of the new trail. So please give them your support by riding the trails and enjoying the café, which opened on Friday the 3rd of July.
The Edmondson’s are passionate about their new venture and determined to continue to develop the trails. The family and the trail builders are keen to tell us the story behind the new jump line at Glenlivet and their plans for future trails – we look forward to sharing this with you all soon.
