Last week we announced an exciting event we will be hosting virtually on the 25th November - The Scottish MTB Gathering 2020.
We are delighted to now be able to open registration for the event with our technical partners, XpoNorth, who will produce the event digitally through their innovative content app.
XpoNorth are Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) ’s specialist mechanism for creative economy sector support and is delivered by Ironworks Venue.
XpoNorth deliver a year-round programme for Highlands and Islands based businesses, custom designed to encourage the growth of the region’s creative economy. This includes an annual conference, sector specialist support, two funded programmes (heritage and digital) and a range of other activities including training and industry introductions. For 2020, XpoNorth transitioned their full conference online, designing and delivering a packed two day programme of interactive content. The highly ambitious digital edition was packaged and produced through their customised app, attracting leading participants from across the international marketplace and achieving a record numbers of attendee would also like to say a huge thanks to Highlands and Islands Enterprise who recognise that mountain biking and the creative arts are a good match which help develop the economy across the Highlands. They are encouraging and supporting this unique collaboration which has been eye-opening, informative and creative. We are looking forward to producing this new era of conferencing in safe technological hands.

The Scottish MTB Gathering will bring together individuals from across the industry. With ‘delegates’ being able to choose from a variety of presentations, interactive workshops and screenings. Topics being discussed will include trails, destinations and innovations and health and sport. There will be a session on the UCI World Cycling Championships 2023, investigating trail development models and highlighting good practice in making the most of our trails.
There will also be sessions shining a spotlight on our premier destinations, announcing new trails and destination developments, demonstrating trail building good practice with Forestry and Land Scotland, Trails Associations and social media influencers, examining the state of our sport alongside interviews with pro riders.
Tourism Secretary Fergus Ewing will open the gathering, demonstrating the Scottish Government’s continued support for the industry
